I just totally redecorated my computer room and this piece was a great addition. I was looking for something that was stylish, black, and was high quality. I'm familiar with this brand because, I've bought two tv stands already so... I already knew what to expect when I got it. It was very easy to put together and is very sturdy. It is made out of REAL wood, not like that stuff you would buy from a department store. You know how you look at some black furniture and color look off... you're NOT going to get that with this piece. The color is truly black with a very smooth feel to it. There's nothing I can say wrong about this piece EXCELLENT!

I received this console table as a Christmas gift from my husband. I couldn't be more pleased or impressed with the quality and design of this piece. It is sturdy, functional and perfectly complements existing furniture within my home. This is by no means an heirloom piece but the price is supported by the fact that the entire frame is constructed of hardwood. My only complaint is that each compartment has a cut out to allow for cords. I have been creative in covering these. I plan to purchase another table and stack for additional storage. However, for now it looks great in my entry way with a large mirror decorative items and functional baskets. It's stunning! Without hesitation, I would highly recommend this console/bookcase.

I've bought a lot of things on Hayneedle. Can't beat no tax and free shipping. This was the first time I had a problem and I was disappointed in how it was handled. We bought this piece only to find the hardware was missing. So I thought a simple fix - overnight us the hardware and move on. Nope - they can't send the hardware. Also, the instructions have only pictures of the screws and hardware. It doesn't tell you what size they are, so going to the local hardware store was out of the question.
We were instructed to package EVERYTHING back up and return it. What a pain in the you know what. I know things happen, but it's ridiculous to have to ship back a 90 pound bookcase simply because it's missing some screws.
Very disappointing customer service.

1. I had never heard of Hayneedle when I started searching for a bookcase online. I found the site easy to use and liked the fact that you can use PayPal. The item arrived promptly and in perfect condition.
2. In terms of the bookcase: it was a leap of faith to spend this much money on a piece of furniture sight unseen - I like good quality furniture and believe that items of this nature should be perfect, in other words I am extremely picky. Having said that, I think that this is a beautiful piece of furniture - it is flawless and has a deep, rich finish. In terms of assembly - I put this together by myself and did not have any problems until I came to the back panel. I started attaching the lower panel without first fitting both panels in place to make sure that they were square with the book case frame - my mistake which was easily fixed by removing the screws and starting again. Fortunately I only had about 5 screws in place when I realized my mistake. The assembly instructions and pictures are great – better than I have ever seen included with a product that requires assembly. All in all it took about 1 - 1 1/2 hours - which included checking and laying out all of the hardware and pieces first, and redoing part of the panel as noted. You should have a flat and phillips screwdriver handy, and a cordless screwdriver really helped when attaching the back panel. I am very pleased with this product and website.
